Alternativa- M is involved in science research and education programs conducted for the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RAEN) at the faculty of Methodology and Modeling of Sustainable Development for Systems and Processes. The faculty is headed by Prof. Vladimir Minayev–the Holding Company Technical Director. The academic corps is represented by 40 PhDs and 35 Candidates of Science, prominent scholars and researchers working in various security management fields. Among them are current employees with the Federal Security Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Federal Service of Tax Police, Foreign Intelligence Service, Ministry of Defence.
The Company instituted a Center for Corporate Business under the State University – Higher School of Economics. Since 1999, the Holding experts have been conducting master classes on Risk Management in Russia. Instruction is imparted by Holding Company President Sergey Morozov, Director General for Investment Risk Evaluation Center Vladimir Solomanidin and Technical Director Vladimir Minayev.
In 2001-2002, manuals edited by Vladimir Minayev for high school establishments under the patronage of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs entitled Fundamentals of Information Security and Telecommunication System Security came out of press. In 2000, a monograph Theoretical Foundations for Information Security, featuring articles contributed by leading experts of the Holding Company was released. As a follow-up on the academic exposure, in 2001-2003 a number of new monographs were published: 1) Risk Management in Transitional Economy; 2) Geopolitical Realities and Security; 3) Computerized Personnel Management System in Non-Governmental Security Industry; 4) Antiterrorism Combat Technologies; 5) Company Organization Culture.
Alternativa-M is a co-sponsor of major International and Russian events, such as an International conference “Prospects for Development of Security Industry and Investigative Activities in Russia” (Moscow, 2001), local conference “IT Security: Regional and Corporate Security” (Moscow, 2002), International conference “Security Industry in Russia”, International forum “Security and Safety Technologies” (Moscow, 2003).
